Just wondering if balsam will be ice free for the long weekend?

I'm thinking it's ice free already or darn close to it. Maybe some one there can confirm?

Hi, I drove to Balsam Lake last Sunday, the East shore, Trent Canal and the ice was gone.

Coby has a decent launch, the Provincial park is nice as well but it will cost ya a day pass, Rosedale has a launch but its kind of hairy, there is a free public launch on Balsam lake drive, looks tough.. but is actually pretty good... ice is all gone for about a week or so... good luck

I always launch at Balsam Lake Road, right at the mouth of the canal. It's mud but has been improved. It's quick access to West and South bays. There is a launch in Rosedale as well, but it's on the river and can be tricky if you're not good getting the boat on the trailer.
