Well the lake was Beauty again this weekend.
Another day out on the water hunting down the toothy Ba3tards...
Weeds just starting to come up, nice bright green cabbage in a few hot spots.
This time we headed to a spot we have NEVER been before, not in 35 years on the lake have I dared ventured past the rocks and hidden stumps in order to get to the "pencils".. paid off.. Wife hit the 1 nice 7 pounder (later we were to find out from the MNR guys it was 65cm).. Crused around the point and spotted some HUGE bass starting to nest.. SWEET!
Feelin hungry and not having much else to do we decided to head Into Coboconk by water. Its been a few years since we've done so and Saturday was the perfect day to do it. Ate lunch at the Infamous "Pattie House" and headed back to the boat. Toke a quick trip under the bridge to the dam and back out, As a small bonus mangaged to untangle and retrieve a Mepps 5 Maribou with buck tail, from the riggings. nice.
AS we travel along the river out to the main lake we decide to throw in some small baits and troll our way out, after all can't catch a fish without a line in the water, anyway I through on a old stand by ("bing-a-ling" Vibramax #4 Red blade, blue Bell, Absolute favorite bait for Balsam) And wifey decides to hit her trusty 2" Black Back Orange Belly Husky Jerk.. and in they go... 30 yards into it and the boat traffic is heatin up, Suddenly.. "I'm Snagged" She says... "Sh!t!... okay lets see what to do.. " WAIT ITS A FISH!!!" fights on!.... the Bing-a-ling get a mind of its own and decided to wrap around her line before we could even blink.. Boats are starting to watch and people on the docks (20 ft away) are starting to cheer.... Pressures on!... Time for a Crowd Pleasure.... We see color.. and take the shot... Wham-O.. dinner is served.
