Hello everyone,
I am new to the board, but not new to fishing. Have been fishing in the Kawarthas regularly for the last 5 years or so. I have not been able to get out as much the last few years because I am out of the country for school most of the time.
I was back over the May 24 long weekend and was able to get out to Sturgeon lake for a few days. Fishing was slow but I did get into a few walleye including a really nice one which was released. Unfortunately I did not get a good measurement but I would estimate it at about 7-8 pounds as it was very thick and wanted to get it back in the water. Got it cranking in about 10 - 12 feet of water. Most of the other fish were caught on the drop shot in 6-8 feet of water. Did catch a few incidental musky that were quickly released.
