Hi, we just joined and wanted to say Hi... now retired and living in the Peterborough area. My wife and I bought a small boat and thought we would try fishing as a hobby, we plan on fishing the lakes around Peterborough so we are looking forward to all the advice and tips we can pick up here.

Welcome to the board. You picked a great place to retire to if you like fishing! The kawarthas are loaded with opportunities. I went to Trent so lived in Peterborough for 4 years. Great little town and lots of shore fishing opportunities around town if you don't feel like hauling the boat to one of the nearby lakes.

Welcome aboard Geman, sounds like you are all set up to enjoy your retirement.

Several lakes in the area that hold a good variety of fish, once you get to know the locals they should open up with some advice for you.

Keep us updated on your fishing adventures.

Welcome GEMAN! Love Peterborough! Stoney lake and Katchawanuka were fished a quite a bit by me and my buddies when we were in our teens to twenties. McCrackens Landing On Stoney lake was one of starting points. This lake has very nice scenery and loaded with islands that offer some great walleye, musky, bass fishing and huge bluegills. Lovesick Lake is another nice little lake near by as well, I use to love fishing this little lake at night....fishing was pretty good, nothing too big but lots of smaller walleye and bass. Enjoy the board and have fun fishing......
