Finally took the boat out after de-winterizing it. Yes late start for me, but was good to get back out on the lakes. Outboard started on first turn, and everything powered up perfectly, all smiles --- and the old girl was back in action. Fishing was a little slow for me, landed 2 walleye, kept one in the slot and released one just under, although I was able to get into some jumbo perch (10 -12").. So I caught enough for a fish fry. Could not find any crappie, but caught piles of slab bluegills. Lots of fun on the ultralight.

Baits used were curly tail jigs and 1" tubes. Pink & white was the hot color.

I did a lot of cruising around and visited some friends on the lake, and they told me the stories of the winter of "snow and ice". They all had early spring floods with the waters rising ~3 ft above normal and are still recovering from boat house and property damage. Many docks damaged from ice as well. Even though they had them on shore, ice had pushed up on the properties.. Water levels were back to normal yesterday when I was out..

Sorry didn't take many pics, but here is my catch.

That's a dandy stringer of fish, Always nice when your boat works, but that's maintenance, a little work in the fall. What lake were you on? I was out with my brother on Chemong on Sunday. Caught a bunch of slab 'gills, on a Zara Pooch??? the ultra light version, about an inch or so long. Had a blast

Good to see you get out and catch some nice fish! Amazing seeing walleye and perch on same outing! I seldom seem to catch the perch with the walleye!

I too am also a late start on Rice with the boat. Perhaps this weekend will get out. Bought my year boat launch pass from Harris' Boatworks last weekend . . .
