Hey guys, I was thinking of heading out to Lake Scugog, I have a pretty stable 15 foot canoe-I'm wondering how choppy the water gets? Do you think we would be okay if we stick around shore?
Also I've never been to scugog if you have any tips, hot lures or helpful advice that'd be great!

scugog is an amazing lake for canoe fishing. I used to do it all the time.
It is usually very calm and even when it gets windy there is always a side that's blocked from the wind.
I don't know how stable of a canoer you are but the average person should have no problems.
lots of weeds in scugog so make sure you rig accordingly and pay attention to your bait for the duration of your retreaval as scugog seems to have a lot of last sec followers.

I was shore fishing there yesterday with my son. Wind was from SW and I was fishing E side. Way to rough for an enjoyable canoe trip. Make sure you shock wind direction before heading out. Have a great day on the water.

you'd be surprised on how good those weeds can anchor you from the wind.

the area around the super market(port perry) is pretty calm even when its windy and yeah the weeds definitely reduces the waves i find spinner and buzz bait, and Texas rig work well there
