Hi all:
I love to fish but dont have a lot of experience at it. I have 3 young boys - 11, 9, and 7 - who also love to fish.
We live in Uxbridge and I am hoping to spend more time in the Kawartha Lake region as it is so close to us.
We dont have a boat or cottage and I am planning to keep it that way. I figure it is easier to just rent a cottage and boat for a couple of nights and then head home.
I would love to hear from anyone who has recommendations on a good cottage / boat (simple fishing boat) to rent.
My youngest and I went to Balsam Lake and stayed overnight and it was a lot of fun even though it was a windy couple of days and tough with the boat and fishing. Great to be out.

Welcome aboard Brad.
The Kawartha lakes is a huge area and you will enjoy a lifetime of good fishing and great family memories...
For day trips I would suggest Emily Provincial Park and Balsam Lake Provincial park. Usually decent fishing at various shore spots and if I am not mistaken you can rent canoes to explore the lake.
If you haven't been yet, check out Lake Scugog, I think you can rent fishing boats at the marina in Port Perry. Visit the Causeway Bait & Tackle and ask them where to rent boats, they are usually quite helpful..
Thanks for joining and looking forward to hearing about your adventures.
