Good day fellows fishermen and fisherwomen,

We have a group of 8 that do a fishing trip every spring for walleye. This coming spring we are looking for a new lake to try out. We would like to stay away from Nipissing and have fished Nosbonsing for the past few years.

Any suggestions on lakes and cottages to rent ?

By far my favourite walleye lake has to be lake temegami. Its a hell of a drive from niagara but we go every year and have no problems catching limits. Helpful hint, the go to for me this year was a crankbait smelt that dove to about 5-7ft, made by live target. I caught big numbers this year and had my limit one of the nights in less than 2 hours strictly trolling. Becareful of rocks and high spots, you can be trolling in 130ft and it can shoot up to 5ft in a matter of seconds, navionics is your best bet with this as the lake temegami map is very hard to understand to new comers, take your time and be careful. Happy fishing

Lake Erie in the spring is nuts for limits of huge eyes. Plus it's a shorter drive and no BS slots with a 6 fish limit!

Kipawa is beautiful, but you better know where you're going, because it's a massive lake. Great walleye fishing in the spring, never been in the fall.
Good Luck

Matachewan is amazing for walleye and smallmouth bass is open all year there so when you get bored of walleye you can go for bass or pike!

Try Gow-Bush-Kon lodge in Gowganda, great walleye fishing, no closed season on small mouth or pike, lots of perch and lake trout.Great boats you can't be more comfortable.

Lake Abitibi is by far one of the best walleye lakes. It is a hike to get there but well worth it. You don't even need a boat In the spring fish off the shore and you will have no problem getting your limit. And also there is some huge pike in there as well.
