Temagami is a tough lake to ice fish, ive been going there for years during the summer and have been ice fishing there a few times, last year all we caught were lake cod thru the ice and one small pick, that was it. The lake cod isnt bad, but you need to fillet and eat almost right away. If i were you id try some where else, im sure there are some good spots on temeg for ice fishing, but its just such a big lake its really tough. I would go else where, just my opinion. Sorry to bring the bad news

Can't provide info on that outfitter but there are a number on the lake , perhaps others will chime in with suggestions..
As a comment , I don't think you could possibly be dissapointed in a trip to Temagami, It can be a tough fish sometimes but the overall experience is worth it's weight..
Wish you the best and will chime in later with the name of a lodge that was good to us when I remember the name..
They have ice bungalows. Fishing can be tough, but we did well when we went, caught whitefish, lake trout and ling. Use traditional methods, tip-ups, they work best!

I'm ready for another trip there Jerry.
Even have some great tip-ups for you to use
Both Blue Haven and John run good operations.
But don't expect the fish to come jumping out of the holes. You have to work for them, but they are easy enough to get once you know what you are doing.

We were fishing out of loon lodge last year and did really well for whitefish most on spreaders. We chummed the day we arrived and next morning the fish were thick. Nothing better than seeing the tip up lift and feeling the line stretch when setting into a whitie. It's such a beautiful spot, that fishing is secondary ..... well almost secondary. Hospitality at loon lodge is terrific and a couple of hits are walking distance to the lodge. The one on the left has more fish:)

My wife and I stayed at embassy bungalos a few years back. We had lots of action for Lake Trout, though they were all fairy small, and lots of Burbot (ling) as soon as the sun went down. All fish were caught on tipups.
We stayed in the 2-man bungalo and really enjoyed the trip, would like to go back again. If you check out their website there is a pic of my wife with her first ever Lake Trout.

I just booked my trip to Temagami! Jan 22, can't wait already, this trip is always the highlight of my winter.
Longshank, would you be willing to divulge the design of those great tip-ups? I was planning on making some this year.
If you go back to prior ice fishing reports, we put some pics up on the tip ups.
I bought them from the Simcoe area. !0.00 bux They have to be lightweight and balanced properly. Stands for tip ups alsohhave to be proper height and capable of "locking stick" in event of a quick lake trout hit.
I'll check for any pics and see if i can find some.
