I hope to make it up there this year - I missed last year. My cottage is in Burk's Falls so I go up for a couple of day trips to Calendar Bay.

can't go wrong with a jig and minnow. Use a 1/4 oz jig head orange or yellow, small twister tail and tip with a mud minnow. Jig this right in bottom and you should get into some walleye. Also small spoons jigged the same way work good. Good Luck on opener and let us know how you do.

Agree with above.

Also simple single hook and minnow spilt shot works well.

Try 6 inches offf bottom.if harrased by perch, move up higher.

Although many people do not night fish that hard on Nip. we have had 2 outstanding nights for walleye...and the others were a bust!

During sunny days...get a setup for pike after 9 am going ...I prefer about 3-6 feet off bottom with a very active minnow on a quick strike rig.

Herrring all day long with small jigging spoon or Genz worm

All esle fails, just fish for perch.more every year and decent sizes as well.

I'm fishing with Sandybay cottages from the 16th-19th of Jan. We have had decent luck with jeff and his setup.
