Pick up a large topo of the north of Bancroft area couple it with the MNR stocking reports , wait for safe ice ...

Go after some of those "Monster" specs..

Id wait a little bit longer. There is ice starting to cover most lakes but nothing safe. In two weeks there should be some fishable smaller lakes.

Zone 15 - Brook Trout = Jan 1 to Sept 30. Gotta wait
- Splake = All year
- Rainbow = All year

Just saying....

Still a couple weeks away from relatively safe ice. Be safe!

There lots of lakes in zone 15 that are open all year for brookies

I gapped, and forgot about the exceptions list (sorry, my bad). Did a bit of recon earlier today with the dog, found a few small lakes with about 2 inches of ice. Not there yet, but won't be long now for a few of the small sheltered lakes. Im hoping to be on ice in 2 weeks, God and the weather willing (lol).
