I'm 20km north of sudbury and the ice is not even safe here stay off lakes Windy lake north of sudbury is wide open.

Always better safe than sorry Gord, my ice picks are always at the ready but I do not have a float suit. I will purchase one of these days, but until then I take no unneceassary risks.

It would take a bit more ice for me to go on, despite the fact that you probably can't fall through it, however there could be unsafe ice 20 feet away. But good job being brave and nailing some first ice lakers
