Hey all ,
Thinking of going to wigomog early next month and have read alot about the 'narrows' not freezing over solid

If anyone knows those areas can you please chime in
I have circled the area i will be in ,
Should i be concerned?

Yes, there are two narrow channels that have a fairly strong current on Kash and Grass. The first is just down from where you circled and the 2nd is just a couple km's or so up from where you circled. Most winters it is safe but there have been the odd winters when it is questionable. Check with locals who know or ask a local bait or tackle shop.

I fished just south of that area last year and it was fine , the places to avoid completely are then narrows north and south of there

You dont have to avoid them completely.
Just check the conditions.
I have a family cottage on the channel north of where you circled.
The ice is safe basically every year unless it is an extremely mild winter.

Good Luck!
I've seen some you tube videos of some pretty large musky being pulled out on hardwater.
Personally I have never ice fished kashag or grass, but there are crappie, perch, walleye, and musky so you should have some success.

And lake trout!!

LOL what a dummy! How could I forget about Lakers!
The part of the lake you are staying on is deeper and definitely does have Lakers.
Good Luck!
