Just wondering if the small lakes in haliburton are getting close to safe? I'm hoping to go next weekend but I'll wait another week if necessary. I'm thinking Barnum should be ready

barnum eyes have worms! lol it should be ready by next weekend. ill be up near barrys bay tomorrow in search of safe ice, ill let you know how it is

Was out on Monday 3 different lakes tried for brookies, rainbows, and splake only caught 1 herring lol 2 lakes had 7-8" the other 4-5" didn't go to far from shore.

At least you were able to get out, even if the fish weren't biting.

You sure that was a herring you caught? Head and scale pattern looks a lot more like a big chub to me. Maybe it's just the angle in the pic.

Lmao... Dad and I caught 6 that size last year, same lake thought they were herring and smoked them up...they were pretty dam good
