Hey all, im heading up to sundridge on new years eve, im going to be there until Monday. I know theyre going to have substantial cold weather while im there. Can anybody tell me if its worth bringing icefishing gear? If i do itl just be the basics, not going to lug the hut but ust not sure if theres going to be anything fishable in the surrounding area. If anybody has some insight they wouldnt mind sharing thatd be great. Thanks alot

Not sure what the lakes are like that way... Take your gear if you don't you will likely regret it. I take my gear everywhere.

Any ice up that way guys? I know nipissing is doing well for ice and thats not too far away. However im not going to do any major driving while im in sunridge as im there to visit family. Just hoping to get out for a few hours. So if anyone knows of any nearby lakes that has goodice, or will have good ice in a couple of days, please dont be shy. Thanks all

There were about 6 to 8 guys fishing off the end of golf course road on lake Bernard for the last 2 days. They were not very far out, lake is still wide open in the middle.Should tighten up by the weekend as they are forecasting - double digit temps for the week.I would try off of high rock or the checkerboard as it froze up a bit earlier.Good luck and stay safe.

I drove through Sunridge yesterday on my way back from Temagami.
Lake appeared to be completely frozen over.
No idea of the ice thickness.
Seen no one on it and only one hut I could see.
With the current temps I suspect the ice is being made.
