Hey All we are heading up from the south on the 11 and are on our way to lake Nippissing (Callandar Bay) I just wondered if someone knows of a bait store that has minnows and that will be open Jan 1st. Along the way the closer to Callandar Bay would be best

Elwood epps is closed new years and Jan 2nd silly move business wise; it is open dec. 31 but only till 2:30pm. I wouldn't worry about how far away you get the minnows, I always get a bag along the way with a shot of oxygen and they last all weekend easy.

Where on Nipissing are you going? If it's fish bay area you can get them at Bowmman's and Sunset Cove rd area Dales Bait.

This is probably a stupid question to most but im curious... How far can you transport bait before it becomes illegal? I come up from St. Catharines and I can get a scoop for $5 which is roughly a dozen minnows. I usually just spend the moey and get minnows while im there but im wondering if I would get in trouble for bringing bait from home?

Jacobs bait on hyway 11 just north of line 14 south of orillia. He is a bait wholesaler who supplies most of the bait shops up here. He Will pack them in oxygen for you and they will stay alive for days.

I do believe the reg's calls for all bait going in to Nipissing must be from north of the Severn river. Check the reg's to make sure but I do believe that is right. We usually stop at Charlies baits in Huntsville and pick up extra on the way up and them hit timmies on the way back out to the highway.
Good Luck be up there the end of the month with Ice Bungalows ><>><>><>><> :thumbjavascript:
