Just wanting some feedback. Has anyone been trying rattlin raps or clackin raps through the ice on nip? Just want to know if they are working. I use them to call in the eyes but wanted to know if anyone is having success with them. Thanks all

I played with them a bit last year. Definitely drew fish into the area, watched them chase the rattle bait around on the flasher, tough to get bit though. Finally found out the trick - pull the bait up and drop a jig and minnow right on it's nose - bang, walleye on

Ya, use that tactic with jig and minnow in vicinity of lipless crank. I guess if others in the hut get fish on its worth trying. Thanks for the input

I have had success in the past where I would punch 2 holes directly beside each other and I would dead stick a minnow with a small enough hook through the back that the minnow can swim but heavy enough that it will pull the minnow back beneath you hole. in the second hole I would rip the snot out of a clakin rap and just watch my flasher/sonar. more often than not any fish that comes in the area will swim hard at the lure but smash the minnow. Let me know if you try this and have any success.

Sounds like a good technique. Thanx I often use a small silver Williams as an attractor. Works well for perch.
