Hey guys, just got back from Bear Creek cottages and had a great time up there. Shawn and boys sure know how to treat their customers and put them on fish!

We were supposed to have a 6 and 4-man bungalow but we lucked into an 8 and 4-man bungalow. The extra space in the 8 man was awesome for our group when we're all together at meal time or the evening festivities.

I couldn't tell how many Walleye we caught between the 7 of us, but it was a lot of them!! Unfortunately I can tell you how many Perch we caught and that was 3, no Ling, no Pike, no White fish, no mud puppies and that equals no fish fry!

That 18.1 inch slot size sure makes things a little tough. We caught 2 at just shy of 18 and I mean just shy. One that for sure would have been over was lost at the hole by my brother-in-law. Tons of fish caught were in the 12 to 15inch range and they seemed to be biting most of the day. The bite stopped everyday at dark and then not another fish would be caught till morning.

All in all, a fantastic trip and I would recommend the boys at Bear creek to anyone looking for a lake Nipissing ice fishing experience. Now having said that, Bear creek is the only operator I have stayed with on Nipissing over the years and I'm not putting down any of the forum sponsors from up there. Just haven't stayed with them is all......

Hoping to post some pics when I get them emailed to me.

All the best to you boys!

Our group will be up from Jan.22 to 25, looks like our board members will be well represented up there that weekend. Been fishing between Idle Tyme and Bear Creek for the past 22 years, has always been a great outfitter.

Opener was awesome! We were out with ssic and they put us on the fish. We caught 97 pickerel with only two being keepers. One was a 5 lb and the other was an 11.5 lb 31.5 inch. We also caught a 10 lb ling. Perch was slow only catching 6.

Haanzy, we were the group leaving at the same time as you from new york, that pic doesnt even do your walleye justice, it was huge. We caught about 40 during the weekend and two lings. Only one keeper at 24 inches. But always fun

Our group had a lousy time dealing with Idle Tyme/ Bear Creek which is a shame because we read up about how they were one of the good operators. We made the decision to pack everything up and leave after one nights stay and had an amazing time on Lake Nosbonsing.
