I've heard nothing but good things from their outfit and you go out there to fish and make memories with your friends and family if your more worried about the hockey game stay home and watch it don't bother other people and they even helped you. I think your missing the point on going out on the ice for a weekend I hope every fisherman/woman can relate to what I am saying.

QUOTE (FatRap @ Jan 08, 2015 - 02:39 pm)
Whatever happened to going ice fishing to fish? When sitting with friends and swapping stories and jokes and rehashing old memories from previous years is what made your weekend. To sit around the table at night playing cards and listening to the good old hockey game on the radio was good enough. Now it seems it's all about which cell phone provider gets you the best phone reception, is there internet reception out on the ice, laptops and satellite TV's that all of us cityiots can't seem to be away from these days. I remember when it was a bonus to get away from these devices for a few days and just relax and fish.

On Jan.22nd I am heading up for our annual trip to the Nip with 8 great friends and an AM/FM radio for 4 days to relax and fish, share some jokes and tell some stories and share some good memories we had over the years and make some new ones and I can't wait. This is all I want out of this trip and hopefully a nice fish fry

Good times, good fishing, good eats and plenty of good drinks with good friends..........personally I don't need any more than this.

Keep it simple and don't go up there with too high expectations and you will have a great time up there and you will want to make these weekends an annual event as well.

Fat rap - I agree with you on everything except one detail:

A great weekend away with friends is with friends.

Dump the am/fm radio - it is same distraction as the www and satellite TV, Internet etc. The radio is just a simpler distraction of more modern feeds- but all distractions.

If wanting real interaction with people all external feeds should be shut down?

To have real conversations there should be no distractions?

It's time to put this one to rest. There is probably a little bull*&^% on both sides of the story. Nobody is perfect and even the best screw up once in a while. It probably has something to do with how many pops were consumed.
