I always pack what is easy to cleanup. Cereal for breakfast, sliced meat and bread for lunches, and something for the bbq for dinner. I always plan for a fish fry, but sometimes bring it home for the family. Basically just pack 3 days of junk!

We have 2 guys who went to culinary school in our group. I would recommend bringing a guy like this.
The one guy does a breakfast poutine from scratch - I'm talking peeling potatoes and all. He also makes some killer soup while we're up there. Creates a mess but he's happy to clean up after as well.
A homemade lasagna always makes an appearance as well.
When it's my turn to cook I dumb it down - burgers and sausage.

Its what you make really. We've got a guy in our hut who likes cooking. I eat just as good on the ice as at home. Premade Smoked baby back ribs, steaks, sausages salads,... the whole works. We've got a group in another hut who just bring frozen pizzas. ( And bad ones at that)They love it. just bring all disposable dishes knives forks etc. Nobody likes cleaning up.

If I'm staying out longer than a few hours and need food I'll usually take a selection of IMPs. Canadian or American types.
They can be heated up via pot on stove (or over heater) or can use their heating packages.
Showing is an older canadian IMP.
Relatively expensive but quick and good. Available from some online vendors. Hero army surplus in Oshawa often has a few boxes or individual meals available. Box can be 10 or 12 meals.
not too sure that I'm overtly fond of the vegetarian selections.
