If I'm staying out longer than a few hours and need food I'll usually take a selection of IMPs.  Canadian or American types.

They can be heated up via pot on stove (or over heater) or can use their heating packages.

Showing is an older canadian IMP.

Relatively expensive but quick and good.  Available from some online vendors.  Hero army surplus in Oshawa often has a few boxes or individual meals available.  Box can be 10 or 12 meals.

not too sure that I'm overtly fond of the vegetarian selections.

Attached picture of the MRE or IMP ration heaters.

can heat up meal or two with one heater. They can get quite hot . . .

Here's our boy's weekend menu this year.

Breaky (on the ice) - Egg 'McMuffins' - precook the bacon to save time and mess. Cook the eggs on the hut stove, throw on some pre sliced cheese and some mayo and put on toasted english muffin.

Lunch (on the ice)- Pulled pork. Precooked, placed in foil, heated on the propane stove in the hut. Throw on a bun (with a selection of barbecue sauces of course).

Dinner (off the ice) - steak, potatoes and mom says I need a vegetable so I bring caesar salad (with tonnes of dressing). Hey, that technically counts as a vegetable.
