South River Resort Report, Jan 9 to 11

Had a great weekend on South Bay with my wife. Her first time sleeping on the ice. We went with Steve at South River Resort. We had a great time. The huts are very nice and well kept. Everything worked as it should. Steve was around regularly to check on us. The fishing was good. We totalled 19 walleye and 1 perch. Only 1 keeper at 19 inches the rest were from 14 -17 inches. Steve drilled holes nearby our hut on top of some shoals he had marked on his GPS. They were very productive. About half of the fish came in the hut the other half outside. Due to weather conditions we were not able to fish outside for too long. Buckshot tipped with minnow head was the most successful of the lures. Some fish caught on just live minnow. All around great weekend. Would definitely recommend SSR to anyone based on this experience.
