We found the fishing very slow as our hut was in 34 feet of water
And it seemed most of the walleyes where caught in 15 to 20 feet
But it was the weather that stopped us from fishing outside a catching more
but -41 with the windchill kept us in the hut .
Biggest fish caught on 1/8 th white jig 27 inch walleye also a 27 inch ling.
All in all about 15 walleye 1 ling 1 perch.....we had higher expectations but the weather did not cooperate.
It was all worth it with great meals and good friends with many laughs
and new memories......

I,ve brought a pop up and it worked out good . Bring a little heater and set up whatever depth you want .Most bungalows are on a reef so it isn,t far to go to find the depth you want .

I have found from going up to the Nip for 20+ years that when a deep freeze cold front moves in when you are up there it usually causes a slow down in the fish biting. We book so far in advance that it is what it is when you get up there and as you said you just make the best out of it with good food, good times with good friends to share a laugh and make new memories all make it worth it.

Unfortunately the weather didn't give us a chance to go outside and the one day that was ok 👌 we decide to drink and play cards thinking we would chase the
fish the next day but -41 with wind chill changed that plan .....
Bring your popup and you will get on them for sure anywhere
from 15 to 20 feet.
Like falcon17 said all the huts where on a reef from 30 to 40 feet in that area there but humps or peaks came up shallower so find 15 to 20 feet and you'll get some.
The spot we wanted to try was only 50 yards beside our hut but again nobody
wanted to freeze there ba\\$ off...lol.

Green worked well as did white for me ....
Definitely if you are mobile and the weather is cooperative find 20 feet
and I think you well do well ..
That's why its called fishing and not catching.
Good luck to all heading up to nippising and be careful driving
Up the roads where horrible on the way there and back and it took us 5-1\2
Hours to get up there from Burlington Ontario.
Better to arrive late than not at all...
Good luck all.......
..........fishmagnet....here's a pic of our dive up hope yours is better...

I agree..that massive cold front would slow down fishing. Some still get them , but overall, it would not be the weather i would want while there.

Looks like next 2 weeks is faily stable..if you trust long range forecast.
