Hard to say guy. Last week there was only 2 inches of ice in spots. Although I hear the hut operators are putting huts out on Saturday. Call Mike at Snake Island Huts. He is a guy that can give you the skinny 905-989-2821. He lives on Georgina Island.

weird soooo many conflicting reports..big bay point i saw a vid and they said 2inch of ice..while the ice fishing outfitter crew (lady) said 6-7inch air-go why the huts were being put out

ya its conflicting ice conditions because both those locations are on other sides of the lake from each other… Virginia is safe… Big Bay Point not safe yet...

i figured as much..i dont fish simcoe at all except ice fishing..and only ever gone with the one outfitter on the virginia beach side...as i mentioned to other posters in different threads the outfitter was starting to drag out huts to prep for this weekend opening thusly that area is safe..my edcuated guess from what I have heard would be 7-8in of black ice
food for thought I was watching a youtube vid..a guy on a stocked pond, pond was stocked with tiger trout..apparently a brown/brook hybrid..anyone else heard of this? and are there any in ontario?

I was out fishing there today. A about 200 yards further from the rental huts and was about 7-8". Heard guys and saw guys going back and forth from mainland to the island on skidoos and a couple guys on those Polaris type utv thingers. You're good to take a quad out
