Went out with my son and Burnzy1945 this morning. Did some shallow water sight fishing for perch from around 8-11:30. Caught a couple dozen and son and i brought home 9 for a little meal. Biggest was 11 1/2 for us, a 12" dead on for Burnzy. Was a lot of fun sight fishing, hooked most fish without feeling a bite. Best was my biggest fish, came screaming in from out of nowhere and took three shots at my slabgrabber before getting it and landing in my bucket. Was a weird morning, fish were alternating between wanting really finesse bare tungsten jig tipped with a maggot or minnow head, or comitting suicide on the largest size slab grabber. Will update with pics when i get a chance. Fish were caught between 7-10' of water.

Ice was nice and thick and there were some sleds and atvs out and about. starting to get a few snow drifts which along with the wind slowed travel some. Wish i could get out tomorrow with it's nicer weather, but today was my chance and i grabbed it. Best part, wasn't a single other fisherman within a kilometer of us... On a Saturday!

(was going to enter perch in online contest for another site, but my entry paper blew away while I was trying to get the measuring tape shot

Good to hear you got out and managed some nice fish.

This weekend is a non-fishing one for us so will be looking forward to some fish porn.

Pulling the new bayrunner from one spot to another. Love that I can move it fully setup, even in yesterday's winds!

Nice, that is a cool hut.

We love to site fish as well but our backs don't like it so much.

Good pics. Always like looking at how people configure their sleds . . .

That 1 perch is a monster -stands right out!

QUOTE (npetersen @ Jan 11, 2015 - 11:49 am)
Nice, that is a cool hut.

We love to site fish as well but our backs don't like it so much.

Loved first outing with the new hut. Cried when the rush pack job and crazy winds combined to make a really long drive home and a broken window and damaged fabric replacement windows are cheap, but gotta find a way to get them here as shipping from the company direct from the states is outrageously expensive.

The bench seat slides right up to make sight fishing pretty easy and painless. I am pretty quick to get back pain but it wasn't an issue at all yesterday as don't have to bend too far forward.
