Went out friday morning after a long night at work. Drifted small bags, large bags of all colors, pink worms, orange worms. Tried all my successfull spots.Even tried sinking floating roe bags about 1 foot off bottom in most productive spots. Water was low and clear ,snow was nice and clean on ground but the Notty would not surrender a fish for me.
But thats the Notty think its time to find a new river for fall steelhead, all in all it was nice to be on the river.

The waters getting real cold and the fish have slowed considerably. There is still lots in there. Try some of the deeper slower water still fishing with an egg sinker. In the past I've found you really gotta put your time in on the notty to find whats working.

Agreed the Notty is a tough river to fish. Sometimes I try 10-15 spots and walk 2km+ and nothing. I find the river is basically one huge pool, deep and meandering for miles. Lots of places for steelhead to hold.
