Decisions, decisions and more decisions, hear I was this morning sitting having my morning brew contemplating which lake to target today. It gets really complicated my friends when you have a lake in every direction within a half hour to fish! Had my second cup by 6 am fed the two squirrelrats and got into motion. I finally pryed lake st john from the brain and began to head that direction wondering all the way there if it would be the right choice for the day? Arrived at the lake shortly before 8 loaded up the old clam and ventured out to my favorite little location, oh yes that's the one closest to shore, Ill be damned If I'm pulling this overweighted clam any further than I have too lol!! Anyway now to the important stuff. Drilled my to holes to fish in and propped my delapitaded clam overhead and dug in for the long haul. Was slipfloat fishing in 22 fow with tubes and salted minnows which I preserved from my last outing. Very few fishermen out there today always nice during the week, makes parking a lot easier. Yes sir the float slams down the hole at 915 and I got my first st John crappie of the season. After numerous hours of twink after twink perch, wham!! I nail a nice little eating size walleye to add to the creel. I was tremendously pleased with this as it was now my second of the season which is one more than I caught here all of last year. However I was a bit disappointed today as the crappie bite chose not to develop. All and all a good day on the ice. And now the battle begins again, decisions, decisions, decisions what lake tomorrow? Pics to follow.
