Not looking for hotspots! Just different techniques for different lures? I've been fishing for 4 years now and I'm getting some lakers, but can't seem to even get a whitefish interested. Am I jigging wrong or to deep or not jigging to hard or maybe wrong bait? Need help ! I know people on here don't like giving any info , and I understand that but I just want to have a chance at getting one! Thanks!!

Whitefish are a bottom feeding fish - hence their downward facing mouths.

Try using a Badd Boyz lure tipped with a plastic lure (like a squirming squirt). These lures imitate a small fish feeding on the bottom.

Lower the lure to the bottom and keep it just barelly touching the bottom.

Another lure that seems to work well is the Williams. Gently flapping it around on the bottom every 6 seconds and giving a stronger flap every 5-6 flaps.

Thanks guys! Your info will help me. I think I'm a little to aggressive and maybe jigging a little to hard? I'm gonna slow down a lot and just twitch my bait on the bottom. Hopefully this does it. With all these postings of guys catching a dozen a day and I can't get one is really starting to frustrate me! I know there there but can't get them to commit? I have all the baits but can't land one. Hopefully my time will come this year! Normally fishing in 90-105 ft of water should I go 60-90?

Call me old school but I still think three way spreaders are the way to go. Ten pound test, minnows tight on bottom .easy and it works.

took me 5 years :/ , minnow and 2 way spreader ...make sure your hooks are pointing up a bit so your minnows are not buried in the mud

Agree with PTMPete, 2 way spreader and make sure hooks are razor sharp and pointed upward to keep minnows off bottom. Also recommend a light wire strike indicator. I don't know how many times I would have missed their light bite had it not been for the indicator. Stick with it and as you suggested slow it down a bit, a little finesse never hurts.
