It depends -- I shop at them all but when I really need someone knowledgeable to help me out, I head to JB's Fishing Depot. Recently, I stopped in at All Nation Fishing and Live Bait for the first time and found Valerio to be personable and very helpful -- I'll definitely go back. As has been said before, it is important to support the smaller owners.

i voted Cabelas but I am talking about the one in Michigan... blows away anything on our side of the border. I do spend quite a bit of time at Fishing World in Hamilton and Sail as well though.

All good smaller shops mentioned here. Surprised to find a negative comment about Trombleys Tackle box. When in town for the perch festival I have always found great service, selection & pricing at Trombleys. I was investigating a Black Betty reel when they first came out at a big box store & I wasn't sure how to release the line so it would free fall. So, I asked a young lady (staff member). She didn't know so she went to the computer & after reading for a minute or so - couldn't figure it out. I didn't want a reel without free fall. On my way home I stopped in at Grimsby tackle. Young fella in there (staff) says - o just push this button! Guess who got my money??

Le Baron .. once and I was hooked .... Friendly and helpful staff and prices are well worth the trip. Huge inventory . Markham and Mississauga outlets and easy access to major highways. [COLOR=blue]

Next time you're in Michigan, try Frank's Outdoors in Linwood, MI. When I'm heading to Ear Falls, ON I travel through Michigan to catch the Trans Canada at Sault St. Marie and I make a point of visiting Frank's before crossing the border. Great inventory ...

Fishing World in Hamilton they got it down pact and now there stuff
I go to fishing world to it is a fairly good store its close bye me. the young guys that work there are great help but the owner is a bit of a dick. the reason I say that is my friend went to buy some worms with his young boys standing right be side him and the guy asked him where he was going he said the Hamilton bay and the guy said why go there.Hey I know its not the cleanest body of water but it dos have a lot of fish.

Clearly we have run into issues problems when shopping. No one store is usually bad.. Different things can happen to affect our experience.
I don't know when the associates / owners of some of these stores just can't keep their mouths pinned. They have laughed at our choices, places, told us what they have, want, etc. A perfect example that if you find the right store, right folks working there, tell others and support them all the way. The good folks will work with you and help you at all cost. Support them!!
I was at a Bass Pro and dropped off 14 reels for line. They told me they were slow and it was a perfect time for them to load them up. I shopped for 20 minutes, came by to make sure they understood my list, and one of the "clowns" doing my reels did not know the reels were mine and blurted out to me and 2 of his co-workers who were just standing around, "Why do these people waste our time making us put line on for them?" Bill was almost $400.00. I have not gone back in 3 years. I love Bass Pro, but as a customer, I, we, have options.
I even spooled the old line off to save them time.......
