Hello all,

Had my mr heater for a number of years now, great unit. I clean the pilot chamber every fall before ice fishing starts. However now when i start it the pilot and the ceramic tile stay lit for about 4 minutes and shuts off. After that even the pilot light will not stay on. When i depress the main knob the pilot fires up and as soon as i release it pilot goes out. I think the themocouple is shot. By looking at it, it looks very difficult to take apart. Does anyone know who might have parts or services these units in the toronto/GTA area.

Thanks for looking

Ribar

Do a google search. I know theres a few forums where guys have recommended others to blast composed air through it, etc. there's some tips out there that may save you repair bill or replacement.

Mine gives me a hell of a time before I see a spark. Will have to coach it and see what happens.

Just letting you guys know, this is propane, and explosive. BE CAREFUL!!! A friend of mine was blown up in a hut, about 15 years ago. It didn't kill him, but only because he was lucky enough to be standing in front of the door. The explosion blew him about 5 feet out from the hut. Angels were sitting on his shoulders that day. Fishing on a remote lake, and had the good luck to be spotted by some passing snowmobilers. Years in, and out of the hospital. If you are not sure about what you're doing, take it to a shop. Lot's of Hank Hill guys out there to fix your propane, and propane accessories. Let a pro fix it.

Did you purge the valves when changing propane tanks?
