Got out on the Bay today around 630am. Started in 27ft nothing moved to 22-23ft one mark so moved to 16ft and finally found em.. Went 3for5 on walleye and 2 perch one nice jumbo.. caught the big one (24inches) on a WWilliams half gold half silver spoon and others on a small green Pimple.. I lost my Pb (I think lol) walleye. My best is 12lbs and this thing looked much bigger down the hole but who knows (it snapped my line took my Williams) was a great day

Also I caught my last walleye around 5 and didn't really examine it till I got home.. Anyone know what this is? Just a growth or maybe tumour?? Had smaller ones going down the back

Great reading the report and the pictures - like how you arranged the fish by size.

What size was the jumbo.

As for the walleye with the external bumps - - last year I had same thing. Landed walleye onto the snow so saw nothing until got home.

At home saw these white protrusions all over.

posted pics on LSO and did my own research.

Feed back was disease and the first name slips my mind at this moment but second name is sarcoma?

It is not harmful transferable to people.

I expect more is happening in Quinte than advertised . . .

Herpes sarcoma??? Getting late - I'm not going to look - but you could search LSO Under great lakes from year ago. Or go onto google.

I cleaned my walleye - pain to millet because of the bumps. Wife ate hers but I couldn't eat mine . . .

Thanks

Never measured the perch but the small walleye was just over we 17inches so I say 11-12inches.. Thank you and I'll look into it, meat looked nice but I'm hesitant to try it.. Going in the freezer until I find out a little info don't want to waste it...

Looked at my messages from year ago. Found this thread.

digital sarcoma

Not sure that I got the spelling right.

A few explanations in here and links.

There are other diseases but this is likely the one . . .

Ive pulled more than a few eyes out with this on them. Almost everywhere. Erie, temagami, nippissing, restoule. Its not just quinte thats forsure. Have never brought one home though. Always throw them back to fight another day when we see those, we usually always have a look at them before going in the livewell or on the ice, but things happen. Sometimes you just dont notice it because getting your line back down to catch his big uncle walter is more important

I C&R'd one out of the Thames River early last year that had a small bump or two just like that. But I think I read somewhere that it's common in cold water and wasn't anything to worry about. Will go away later in the season.
