Went to my normal spot - but due to risk of not getting out when leaving (ice and small hill) parked further down the road where more public access. Lots of others with same idea.
drive out was great but when stopped and about to drill realized my bucket of minnows was empty. Quick rush back along the ice to find where bucket had tipped and lost lid. Three feet of pin heads and a few of the dozen large ones. All dead and recovered most.
back to area - joined a line of huts - 18 fow. Drilled 2 holes in front of flip - see marks so set everything up.
marks all afternoon but no hits. Figure were perch. Dusk comes along - some very large marks - huge red marks on bottom - nearly foot thick - likely walleye. NOTHING hit.
7.00 called it off went in. Spoke to others leaving - they had also caught nothing today..
one guy came me some coaching on parking -appreciated- at time I didn't realize was making challenge for others backing up.
best part of day? Watching two CF planes flying around. One had white belly and tail fin looked like whitie / laker.

To bad about the skunk. Still, nice that yo got out! Love plane watching when fising there. Last year when i went out they had paratroopers dropping out of a hercules onto the bay. Nothing like seeing a giant herc coming right for you at low level with it's back bay wide open, then see a few orange parachutes come flying out. I thought it was the ministrys new rapid deployment COs for a minute!

Sorry to hear you didn't do better. I guess the fish are just picky at the moment. There was a big slush bed at the bottom of the small hill so I'm assuming that is why it all iced up. It made walking a challenge on Saturday but the foot of fluffy snow that fell just before we arrived wasn't good either.
At least you were seeing marks, better than the 3 tiny marks we got in 5hrs but at least I broke my skunk streak but not with the fish I was hoping for. Somehow catching a rock bass on the ice just doesn't feel right but the skunk smell is hopefully gone now
