Took the day off work today to get some excercise through 16" of snow and slush. We had 3" of water in the bottom of our hut all day as soon as we punched the holes. What a pain, made everything difficult.

between me and my buddy we landed 6 or 7 Lakers in the 1-2lb mark, then around noon my friend landed a 3lber and I pulled up a beautful 5 lber.

He had the misfortune of making my dinner plate. I could not resist. Pics below.

Nice work. We were up there as well. Landed a large one as well but let it go. They were definitely on. We tried to stay where snowmobiles had been, as soon as you get in the sugar snow it's a tough go.

Regards, ff

footes bay is a common access point. Look for sheer cliff faces. Helps if you have sonar and navionics app for phone so you can see structure and depths. I say cliff faces because the cliff usually doesn't stop at the water. usually continues on, making for deep water. I fish 60-80 feet

Dinner looks amazing.... Can you give up your secret on the method of preparation?

haha sure, It's actually a carribean hot sauce I get my parents to pick up for me when they go on vacation every January. I have never seen it up here, however I'm sure you could take any one of your favorite hot sauces.

I start by filleting and leaving the skin on. I mix a little bit of olive oil and hot sauce in a small bowl (3 parts hot sauce to 1 part olive oil) and use a brush to cover the meat side only. then add a mixture of cajun spice, salt, pepper, paprika, and dill. I let it marinate overnight.

cook on skin side, obviously, till meat flakes with a fork, then I flip it on meat side for about 30-45seconds.

All done!

I love everything spicy so it may be to much for some but I love it. Also good if you can't eat for a couple days as the spice and hot masks the super fishy flavour a fillet will get if not eaten fresh.
