Many of us have our own opinions on how much fish they feel they can take. With that in mind I ask what is the most Perch you would keep in one day? Note: Please take into consideration that as long as the amount of fish one keeps is legal they have done nothing wrong, nobody should be attacked for saying that they would take their limit if they could.

As that this is my first year back ice fishing after a 30 year layoff i have not had that problem yet to worry about. As i don't care for fish that has been frozen too long i would say that i would keep enough for a very good feed for the family.

On a really good day, no matter what i catch i won't keep any more then 10. Unless i have company for dinner. This ends up a nice meal for me and the wife. None under 9" and none over 12". The rest go back down the hole. And for me, these kind of days happen maybe twice a month.

I've been pulling 6-8 inchers and down so I've kept nothing. I would keep a couple 10-12ers for immediate consumption. Not gonna take home more than I can eat. I'm no judge, you guys do what you do, and I'll do what I do.

Max i would keep is 15. Frankly, i don't want to clean more than that, and that gives me at least two good sized meals for the family, one for now and one for the freezer.

I'll keep what I feel like cleaning. If I don't feel like fileting, I'll keep enough for dinner that night then catch and release the rest of the day. My goal is to have my freezer full with my limit on the last day I go perchin on the ice.

Never been in the position to make the choice. Sure I've caught well over the limit in perch in a day but those days are generally filled with dinks that I would not want to clean. If I were catching 50 perch a day for a week straight, I don't think I'd feel comfortable with my tree hugger, conservationist self. Definitely though, I would take the limit of good sized eater in a day if the opportunity arose.

Very respectful and impressive way to do this poll. I wish that every single person on this board would take the time and answer this. It is not beating a dead horse at all because this is the civilized way to get changes accomplished. (or confirm that things should stay the same) I personally do fish for jumbo perch and will keep enough for a fresh meal. This is whether working all day for that meal or having them stacked under us with potential to take limits for every guy fishing. That number is about ten to fifteen. Yes I live fairly close to the lake (about 40 minutes ) however my group of guys who are avid fishermen apply these exact principals whether on our crappie lakes, walleye lakes or any other of the multiple bodies of water we fish a year. These drives range from 1 to 4 hours. We find we treat the fish well and they treat us well.

I read this thread and a "Here we go again" reaction strikes...Albeit nicely disguised and oh so crafty! So many want to know how others manage their catch. What is the huge deal so many make about perch limits? Okay, your legally able to keep a whopping 50 perch/100 in possession....it seems that is an unfathomable number for many, but others, not so much. I don't know about everyone else but I suspect most only wish to consume fish once every week or three. If you ethical about your catch, which I will speculate is true, then after getting your limit your lines shall remain tied until your fridge and freezer are getting low, or worse, empty! Nobody can legally go out there and do this day in and day out. If they are then they are breaking the law and would be considered poachers. If you want to address this it has nothing to do with limits. This year the trout and whiteys have been calling more. I got out and gathered some of those incredibly tasting yellow bellies and then moved on. I enjoyed Andy14's response. Nothing would be better at season ends then to go out and top things off so your family can enjoy a meal or two down the long road until the next hard water season. That would be sweet and by the looks of it we will be able to do so after other seasons close! Would it not suck if there was still plenty of safe ice but nothing to jig for? Yes the hard water gets pounded pretty good but for the most part many perch anglers come out for the freedom that hard water offers. You don't need much in the way of expensive equipment and they are not the most intelligent creatures swimming the waters to convince. Hence why you generally take newbs perch fishing. You can only eat so many fish and most get out only a handful of times per season. Spin the numbers how you wish but watch out for the red herring! Are you still certain that your issues align with limits and not poachers?
If they cooperate I will keep my limit. If I get my limit I head out and mess around with others up the chain. Steelhead
