I fish lake Joe and i also agree that foots bay isnt the greatest, If you have a sled or a boat theres tons more good spots out there but you gotta go further into the lake.

Lots of great spots on joe helps if you have private acess , If not do your homework public acess is closing fast with the cottage association
I HAVE A COTTAGE ON THE LAKE AND I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU GET THAT STATEMENT FROM.
ALL OF THE AVAILABLE PUBLIC ACCESS HAS BEEN THERE FOR YEARS AND HAS NEVER CHANGED.
YOUR NOT GOING TO BE GETTING MORE.
WHAT YOU MAY HAVE THOUGHT WAS PUBLIC IN THE PAST,MAY HAVE BEEN PRIVATE WITH NO COTTAGE ON IT. NOW MORE AND MORE COTTAGES ARE GOING UP ,TAKING UP THE EMPTY LOTS OF THE PAST.

Yes the public access around the lake hasn't changed much. I remember seeing a map with public access points on this forum I believe if you want to do a search. I have a printed map, and maybe I'll scan if anyone needs it.

I fish all of joe and can say foots bay is not the best imo lol. Those who fish other parts of the lake as well as foots will probably say the same.
I agree with pchrzan, lots of great spots, Footes bay may not be the best but it is definitly worth a fish. I've had success all over that lake. If your not catching there are a lot more factors involved than where on the lake you are. 100ft can make the world of difference. So can your presentation. It can be as simple as the colour of your hook on somedays that deter the bite. need to keep changing your presentation till the fish show interest.

X2
went out last week from foots bay for the first time had nothing biting ( no flasher, but guys a little way past me kept yelling when they saw them on theirs) so i know they were down there. kept changing my lures for a couple hours and different spots. then WHAM rods goes and i starting reeling in. Then BAM a monster 10" laker comes roaring out of the ice. put it back and kept fishing nothing else for half hour. packed up and went up to the magnetawan to freeze in the cottage and thaw my auger out.
