Rene Park Report

Headed out on Sunday to do a couple of hours of ice fishing at Rene park. There was a fair amount of snow on about 18 inches of ice, it's thick alright, by the grand stands. Fished about 11 fow with plastics, couldn't get any live bait, and had a few come up and take a look but ultimately no fish for the day. However, we did see a big mark on the bottom at around 11:45, we decided to drop a video camera down there and what do you know, it's a big Pike down there. Tried hard but could not catch him. Has anybody on the board caught one at this location? Will post the video on the board as soon as possible.

There.s lots of pike down there. sometimes perch fishing can be good there also.Try a dead bait might work good for pike .

martindale pond , richardson,s creek, 12 mile creek, it,s in port dalhousie behind the tim hortons where they hold the rowing regattas.

Drive to Hamilton get youself some LARGE shinner minnow.....lots of pike
