I use a piece of rope run through the middle of a pice of pool noodle. I can slide it up and down depending on depth.

I run the transducer cable loosley attached to it so it slides too.

I run the ropw through the transducer mount holes and anglw so it hangs level when suspended from rope.

Slide this down the hole and make sure the rope and not the ducer cable supports it.

i also use it in summer when jigging so I don't have to muck with the settings on the one mounted to my boat.

Similar to this one but I have a piece of rope to hold it and not the actual cable.:

I just black taped the cord to the back of the suction cup mount for my hummingbird 175 simple, effective no bulky pieces

Place a long threaded stainless bolt through the hole used for the mounting bolt, then add stainless nuts and washers to the bolt until it self levels, and then add a piece of pool noodle that slides on the cord at whatever depth you want the ducer submerged.

The thing I like about my rope method is you let gravity keep it level and even in wavy waters in summer it still remains pointing straight down, which is critical.

In the ice hut it is just a simple piece of rope in a second hole. It packs away nice and easy too.

i have seen many gadgets and they are all pretty kewl.

rayray uses the same set up I do, breaks down easily and stores away in seconds. Like rayray says it ain't pretty but it does the trick.

Alconakevin posted that pic on a similar post a couple days ago and I did it to min the next day. $10 for all the material you need between Home Depot and solar store and it works great. Vary little extra weight and baulk so the transducer still fits in the carring case for the fish finder.

Alconakevin posted the picture and as it was to help someone else that's completely fine.
He never claimed it was his picture and used it as an example only.

Best wishes to all: Rick
