Go down to Pete's. they have size 12 and 14 cross lock swivels.
as others have said, I never had one break (yet)
You can also try the quicksnaps or give those a try..just have to be carefull on lure changeups to close gently. I use these on samll grabbers easily enough and real easy for meegs type lures

Wouldnt a split ring act the same way as a snap swivell, without the bulkyness? I know you can get them in small sizes, i just dont like them. They break fairly easily also. I have some that are "rated for 35lbs", yeah no way... Garbage. i read awhile back on a thread about clear swivels, but ive yet to come across any. When you buy williams ice jig spoons, they come equipped with a splitring, which is what gave me the initial thought to use them on other jigs. I figure il give the rings a go, if need be il take off and put my swivel back on. And i cant afford to try all of the buckshots:P not at $8 per, ctire doesnt pay that great

No lol they just fall apart sometimes in general.i like the split ring idea, well see if it works. Stranger things have hapened.
I just couldn't resist If you'd said "Yes" everyone would want to know where you get such big Perch. I use quality snaps, no bargain basement stuff, and replace regularly. I also remove the split rings, if I tie direct, I use a Rapala knot. It's an open knot, clinch knots aren't a good choice here. If I am fishing a jig, I use a clinch so I can position the knot back to keep the jig horizontal. My main line is fireline, double uni knot to fluoro, and a snap. I have prerigged jigs of various sizes, tied to a swivel. When I want to change, I don't have to retie, just open the snap, and put on a different bait. I use 6 lb. fluoro for my leader, and go to 4 lb. fluoro to the micro jigs I use for Perch, and Bluegill. I don't rig spoons this way, just straight on the snap. I don't see line twist an issue with a vertical presentation. I like the buckshot, and have a couple dozen kicking around. Smaller for panfish, bigger for Walleye. Always glow in the dark for 'eyes. I bought some cheap spinners from CT, and removed the dressed trebles to put on my big buckshots. I use the red feather hooks for 'eyes, and they hold scent better. And don't be afraid to pound bottom with them. They're a nice heavy bait for that, and the silt cloud attracts minnows. So the bottom line is, you need at least four rattlespoons. Two big (1/4 oz.) two small (1/8 oz.) One bright colour, and one dark colour in both sizes. And don't forget the minnow heads.

Take the red treble hook off first thing and try a better type I find red ones are junk And where the hook normally goes make that the end you tie to and flip ends give it a try it puts the opposite end at bottom works great

Hey walleye37,
You always write very well and are very informative with solid suggestions, thoughts. You always encourage others. Always a good read.
GET A JOB!!!!!!!!!!
.......as a magazine writer / contributor.
That occasional "dry" sense of humour works well for you.
Good stuff!!
Get a job??? I tried that once, but it interfered too much with my fishing. Ironically, I was a fishing guide at the time. An advice columnist like the "Ann Landers" of fishing? I could even create a host of different email accounts, and ask myself, my own questions, for a regular readership. Newspaper editors like to see you're a hot commodity. You think the National Enquirer is ready for me? All hail Walleye37 the panfish conquerer.
