If it's eagle lake North of haliburton you're talking about I've never fished it but drive by it all the time on my way to redstone .. I've seen a couple people out this year but redstone is much better for trout , good luck stay warm

Sorry i should have been more specific, i was referring the eagle lake in sundridge/south river area. Just doing some scouting, no way im fishing today. Took me about an hour to get my car started. Thats a pretty good sign that shes a little too cold for me. Also a little off topic but my old mans truck is stuck in 4x4, can this be from the cold aswell?

You can access Eagle Lake at the narrows and there's parking right there. Eagle Lake is a strange lake that holds many species but is predominantly a bass lake. There are pickerel, pike, rainbow and brook trout in the lake but few and far between. Most species caught are accidental while targeting bass. Now there's a healthy ling population if that interests you. Got to the store at the narrows early any given morning, the locals hang out telling lies and having coffee. Try to meet a guy named Paul, not sure his last name. He fishes a lot and lives on the lake, but rarely fishes it as he’s into pickerel mostly. He'll at least give you better advice. Good luck.

I have always wondered what was in Eagle lake. My fiancé has a cottage on Bernard and last summer I took a drive over to Eagle lake. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give some information on lakes in the Sundridge area or within a hours drive. I am a huge bass guy and also enjoy Pike and Walleye as well. I will be launching a 20ft bass boat so that pretty much eliminates any of the smaller back lakes. I fished lake Cecebe in July last summer with not much luck only 2 small largemouth. Not looking for certain hotspots on lakes or best lures to use as that half the fun for me is figuring things out on my own. Any info would be very much appreciated. Feel free to respond here on send a private message.

Thanks guys,

I fished pickerel lake for the first time last summer, and i experienced some really good smallmouth bass fishing. Had a few really nice ones aswell. Eagle lake is said to be extremely rocky, which would be great for smallies but everyone i talk to says bring a spare prop. By looking at the depth map, it appears to be much like lake temagami only not as deep and big. But shoals come up out of nowhere and extremely fast so beware. Ive only fished bernard thru the ice with no results. Cecebe is a pretty solid lake i find during the summer, my buddy has a cottage on that lake and ive pulled quite a few eyes out of there along with some pike. A few good smallies aswell. Another good one which is attached to cecebe is ahmic, ive never actuqlly fished it but the old man has and said he liked the layout of the lake and marked a ton of fish, just didnt have enough time to give it a good go, probably this summer. (new to the area). But i have heard very good things for that lake. Hope that helps a little bit.

Lots of smallies pretty decent for them in Eagle but don't even think of putting the hammer down anywhere on the south side of the causeway .I've even guided on it with the big boat and had no issues but work that bow mount and even then feel your way around especially on that side and even if your going under the causeway to the northside keep the big girl up and use the electric . Lots of bass and pike if you go in the opposite direction of South River out the chemical road Not far . Launch at Tom Thompson Park . Lots of wood and stumps to poke around but again take it easy . Lots of lakes to fish for bass in the area . Even Peninsula , fairy and Vernon down by Huntsville has some real dandies for bass and monster pike . The three are connected so you can stay just fishing them and never even begin to know every inch in a week or month and longer lol . Anyway your asking about Eagle so I don't want to hijack and send you in too many direction s . Lol
