Just curious who will be heading to Quinte this weekend as walleye closes on Sunday at 11:49pm.
We will be heading that way visiting Gayle in the Thousand Islands on Friday and then going on Saturday to see her step son who lives on Hay Bay. Unfortunately, he is at the far east side where there isn't any deep water so will have to access elsewhere. We are hoping we can get out by the old church on the south shore of hay bay but if we cannot get on there, will go out from Sherman's or Huffs. We will be staying over and will probably fish again on Sunday.
We will be taking Gayle, her daughter, stepson and his wife out so that should be interesting. Won't be hardcore fishing but hopefully we can hook into a few. I would at least be happy with some perch for a fry.

Im debating.... been skunked my last 3 times to my 'spot' but it paid off in early ice ......oh what to do
Good luck to everyone
I know what you mean, last 4 trips to Quinte produced 4 perch and 1 rock bass total The gold is hard to find this year but lets hope we all strike it rich this weekend.

Just wondering about the boat launch in deseronto can you park there and walk out around the island that's there any info might persuade me in heading out that way as well.

I read somewhere that there are some snowmobile tracks about 1/2 way to island but didn't know if it went further. Not bad if you stay on track you need to get off it is tough going.

Not to far of a walk I have seen pics of ice huts set up on the north side of the island so do you think that would be a good area to fish or do you recommend another area

I just went on Google maps to see the locations you had mentioned huffs is not far from the island I speak of there's a couple of deep spots that would hold what your looking for so if you look at the the google satalite view there's two deaper areas that you can clearly see to the right of the island find those spots as I know we do well there in the spring I'm just putting it there and I'm sure there would be other people in that vicinity.... well good luck....

We got about 40 perch today from Huff's but no walleye. We were fishing with 3 newbies so I'm happy we at least caught fish. We had 4 in a bucket from 9-10" but ended up releasing them. Will try again tomorrow.
