Drove up there this morning, went down the lake with my gear, tried to start my auger and nadda……drove to Fergus to get a screw driver at crappy tire to try to fix it and still….nadda. Drove back home in the worst possible mood. Its at Adams yet again!!
I was originally happy with the Eskimo Stingray but not so much anymore. If there wasn't just over 2 weeks to go I would have bought a new auger at crappy tire earlier.
Thumbs down Eskimo.
Will try for it again on Thursday now.
What a waste of a day…I'm going for a beer now and cry into that!

Sorry about the bad luck and the Eskimo auger I here pretty good reports about Eskimo products is it a propane one or gas ? it must have been pretty windy up there today. I may try Thursday i have to drive the wife to work and then might head up there with a bud. How much ice is up there now I only have a manual auger so I hope I will be able to manage....

Lots of ice….I'm going to guess and say at least 18-20 inches. I have a manual one as well that I will probably take up there tomorrow if I don't hear from Adam's today. There is not much time left, so the manual will have to do for now.
If i see you up there, I will stop by and say hi. What kind of hut do you have?

My auger broke up there last year it is or was the best manual auger I have ever used its a Swedish bore 8" a weld popped I re welded it but its not the same but it still does the job and I just sharpened the blades so look out ice .....lol I have no hut myself yet i think I'm going to hold off till next year or make one that I can pull out by hand to places like belwood where you don't have to walk to far but I guess it all depends on the conditions theres a big difference on ice than 2ft of snow so if I make it up there tomorrow I will just go north side of the dam ....shoot got to see if they have minnows........
