Got to the lake just after 7. Cold one again. Going out light, no hut just bare bones. Get set up, look at one another covered in frost and icicles and agree we are both insane.
Anyhow, drill a hole drop down to bottom. Start to drill another, spring bobber going up. Nice little laker. Back down the hole he goes. Drop back down, don't even get to the auger and another one on. 2 in less than 5 minutes.
I had 4 in less than an hour, all small though. Then jonny gets one to get on the board. Lots of action, a few lulls. We just kept bouncing hole to hole. I bring another one up, let it go. Letting line down to bottom, wtf? Line broken, there goes my lucky bad boy a hook and 2 minnows to the bottom. I retie. Jon's got a fish on 15 minutes later. What's in his mouth, my top hook and my bad boy trailing. So got that back!
Had some come unbuttoned, no real big ones yet. Then we get a ling again. Awesome. Jon's reeling up his line at the end of the day, feels a little tug. No, keep reeling. Wham. Fish on, end the day with a nice 4-5 lber. Well worth the early morning chill. Back to work Monday so our ice season is coming to an end but have we had some great days! 18 between us today.

Knuguy. Yes spring bobber. I have a system with it. Seems to work. Much like Dale and his float or others and their swimbaits and chasing. We all have our comfort zones. Mine seems a little unorthodox, but I like the results! maybe one day Dale, yourselves and I can get out and share some info and techniques before the season ends.
Damn chores eh Dale? It was cold. The floats would have kept u busy today keeping the holes free.
