Got out with Dbfish this morning. On the ice and set by 9 am. Took my popup and heater and decided to hunker down. We both had a feeling it would be slow, high pressure and bluebird skies. Oh well. Slow start but the slip float king nails a huge slab. Out of the hole and a quick juggling act by Dale, back down the hole. Oh well who keeps the first anyways and who needs pictures? Then a lull and I get a perch.
To say they were biting light was an understatement. Then Dale gets a nice pike. Back he goes. Then a walleye. Then some crappies for both of us and a few more perch. Dale lost a big pike at the hole, bent his jig hook right backwards. Amazed it didn't cut the line. He managed to get another topside after that.
No big numbers but a great day, talking about fish, family and fun. Stayed toasty in the clam and caught some fish. Great day for us both. Oh, this was my first crappie thru the ice. Thanks Dale.
FF.
