When buying a new sled there is so many options to choose. The biggest thing is figuring out what exactly you will be using the skidoo for. Ask your self a few questions before you buy one. What am I going to use it for mostly? Will you be doing any trail riding. Do you want a 4 Stroke or 2 stroke? What length of track do you want? What width of track would suit you better? What size lug? Do you plan on studding the track? What engine size do I want? Will I be breaking trails to the back lake or will it be packed trails?
The biggest thing I look at when I buy my new sleds is the weight. I strictly ride 2 stroke sleds just because they are lighter. I know a lot of people willl say well the new 4s are only 25-30 heavier but when a sled Is packed full of snow and slush the weight difference is huge when trying to get unstuck. Another question is price range you are willing to spend. sleds these days aren't cheap. Ski-doo just released there new 2016 sleds. If I was in the market for a sled to use for just about anything I would definitely would be looking at the new Renegade Enduro or the tundra series sleds. Skidoo makes a very easy attaching 2up seat that can be put on in the matter of seconds.
As said above ice scratchers are a must.
You really can't ask other people about what sled is the best one to buy because everyone will have their own opinion. So YOU have to do the research look at all your options and go from there. What works for one guy may not work for you!

Here's my 2cents: Yamaha or Skidoo for reliability 4 stroke for longevity and no oil/smoke ( flame suit ready) reverse and electric start a must, unless you like moving around 500lbs in the winter studs a must be prepared to lose 40% of your money in 2 years if you buy new Will

I buy a new sled every two years and there is no way i loose 40% of my money even if the sled has 5000km on it. The first year the trade in value drops the most but no where near a 40% hit. Then it starts to even out...
