Got the the access at about 630am, headed out to one of my hotspots from last year that did really well for us. It was a really slow slow day. We moved around a few times and tried different depths but the jumbos just werent coming out. we all caught many many perch, but all dinks. Dink after dink after dink. And for those of you still wondering about the splitring, it worked fine. I had good action and it performed well, just couldnt locate any eaters. Ended up getting a couple good sizers towards the end of the day, but it just wasnt worth it so we kept nothing! It was by far the slowest perch day for me on cooks bay ever. Not to happy as it was the first time i got to cooks this year, hopefully i can get back one more time but with those results im better off going elsewhere, what a sh!tty day.

In a couple of weeks it picks up in shallow. While fishing crappie at night in 8 FOW we were still pulling up jumbos. Also in shallow the sight fishing is best. No fish finder needed.
