Was out fishing 4 times this January out deep fishing for Lakers and Whities with NO success.
I have caught Lakers before but no whitefish, although we've fished hours for them....
Went into the trip without ANY expectations and the right frame of mind to grind it for the entire trip hoping for 1 Laker and 1 Whitie.
Went back to the basics, finesse fishing on key structure and depths scouted out prior to fishing was the key to our success.
Although we are walkers and don't have sleds we made the walks to get away from crowds onto less pressured grounds.
We were able to hook into a nice whitefish around 9:30 on day one and had them dialed in from there!
Great 3 days spent on the lady during reading week with my good buddy Luc, finally were able to get onto a successful pattern for those humpbacks!!
Ready for the warm march weather for the real fun to begin
