Was my 3rd time out in these areas this year and skunked all 3!!! The numbers and chasers don't seem to be there as they were last year?? Would like to hear everyone else's idea's as to why?? Last year we couldn't keep them off the hook?? FRUSTRATED!!!

Food source for the fish isn't there fish follow the bait I fished that area aswell
I will agree with you on that! Although this weekend we had quite a few bait clouds moving thru with a few taps and minnows gone when we rose up to them. Was actually the most I've seen yet this year. Maybe will make the predators follow? Also I noticed funy currents in the bay this year? Not sure other than the funky pressure cracks we had this year what else would be causing that?

I don't understand it for sure. I don't buy the bait fish thing because I've marked a ton of clouds as well as so many fish marked with no chasers and takers. I'm out minimum once a week and on average 3 times every two weeks. In fact I would dare say that I've marked more fish this year per hour than any other year it's just that the catch rate does not correspond with the marking rate.

In January I had good luck there when I drooped a line in. Hooked a good whitey but its belly was FULL with zebra mussels (almost digested) . I bet lots of whities have become lazy after consuming Z mussels as easy meal and wont chase minnows
