March 1st JP with the kids

Headed out JP at 9:00. Stopped off at D&W to grab bait and had a great talk with Donna?(I hope I got her name right). Fantastic people there!
Walked out to 20Ft and set up. The boys wanted to play with daddy's fish finder so I was hoping to give them a perch show. Unfortunately it didn't turn out the way I pictured it. Screens blank the whole time and it was going to be hard to pick up and move everything and drill with 24inchs of ice. The kids had fun playing outside and making patterns on the lowrances. These are the type of electronics I don't mind the kids glued to. Managed one perch in 3 hours but I couldn't have images a better way to spend the afternoon with the boys.
The perch was released after the picture.

Nice you had a good day out with the kids! They will remember it for a long time. Only fished with my dad once like 25 years ago and I still remember it to this day. He does not like fishing but love to eat them... so I fish 2x more just for him!

If they are going to learn about fishing then they need to learn everyday is not going to be a great day
