Drove to BOQ - Parked in lot. Spoke to a guy just leaving at about 13.30. He had fished last 3 days on the ice - only 1 pike for 20 hours effort. He stated for most people the action has been slow. He is LSO member but seldom posts. I only remember some of his handle - jigup? Hope he reads this and comments!

As jigup was leaving, NPETERSON arrived with Glen. They have a really nice smithy sled! I took them out with the Argo.

we went out to a general location that I always try and fish when on the ice here. Drilled a hole - determined too shallow at 11' and went to 14'. We spent rest of afternoon in that location - moving around 10 to 12 holes.

Just after arriving, I iced a nice walleye - on ice I thought was 18". At home measured at 21".

We didn't set up tents - wasn't too cold - just a bit of wind. Throughout the rest of the afternoon we marked lots of likely perch - all we landed were dinks except maybe 1 caught by Glen.

Left ice at about 5.30. Didn't measure the thickness - well over 2'. About a foot of snow in places.

most permanent huts were off - we noticed quite a few tents on the ice all over (none close to us).

now to clean the Walleye . . .

My largest yet for 2015

First I would like to thank you Frank for taking us out. It saved Glenn a lot of slugging and tough walking with the sled in tow. You've got a sweet ride there If only one person was going to get a walleye, I'm glad it was you for the generous offer.

It was nice to be marking fish the whole time we were there and we had some bigger marks show up but for the most part, it was the dink perch. Fairly consistent catching of the perch which kept us occupied but nothing bigger than 8" perch were willing to commit.

We were thinking of going in earlier as we've had a long weekend but the constant marks kept us interested so we just decided to head in when Frank was ready. I'll put up a report tomorrow on the rest of the weekend and post a couple pics I took of Frank and the setup.

Now it's time for bed.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the hook coming out as well! As soon as we heard he had a nice fish on, I rushed over to see if I could help but as I arrived, the hook popped out and then Frank stuffed his hand in the hole to grab the fish.

I can't believe we both forgot that!

Here is our sled which we snugged up to Franks on the way out. They seemed to ride together nicely.

BTW, that dinner looks awesome. It would have been nice if we could have hooked into one as well but Quinte didn't like us this year.

Here is Frank with his fish...

Thanks! Gayle's ex built it but left it at her place when he left so she gave it to us. It is made out of copper piping welded together and then I added the plastic corrugated to make a floor and walls to contain all the stuff. The auger fits nicely on the supports but we didn't need to take ours out as Frank said we could share his.

I have changed the skis that were originally on it since they had been so worn down you could barely pull it. We could only get cross country ski's right now but will change them to downhill once we get a pair.

Thanks for the report and great read..

Nice to see members getting together to go fishing.

Bluenote, a very nice walleye. Fantastic way to end the season..

The youngster and cooked fillets even better pics, especially since I am just about to prepare dinner and having left overs.. LOL..

Well done.....
