Thanks elrik I was hoping that was the case considering anywhere I looked online it did not say anything about Pike being in Rice Lake. Also i figured someone who lives in works in the niagara region probably did not know all that much about rice lake.

Well there are Pike in the Trent, below Rice, and I have caught them in Stirling, above Rice. But probably not in Rice itself. Uhhh, wait a minute, is the Pope Catholic??? Okay, so there's a good chance there are Pike in Rice Lake. No chance to eradicate them, so learn to enjoy them. Rice isn't big enough to sustain both species, so eventually the Lunge lose. But that isn't something we have to worry about in our lifetime.

Rice Lake isnt big enough? 32km long and 5km wide (the size of St. Lucia) - the largest of the Kawarthas...I think it is large enough in terms of size but whether the ecosystem can handle this intrusive species is a whole other matter....

No, sorry muskyfreak, but it isn't large enough to sustain both species. Pike spawn sooner than lunge, and have a size advantage in the fry stage, and eat the smaller musky. The Bay of Quinte, and Georgian Bay are big enough, but smaller bodies of water don't bode well for the 'Lunge. St.Lucia? I was there a few years ago, with my evil twin. Rented a man, and his boat right from the beach. Don't know what we caught, but some were colourful, and others looked like Rock Bass. He kept all those. Nothing big, they were the size of Rock Bass as well. We had light equipment. Or some might describe it as junk. A couple 6' telescopic rods, and light spinning reels. Assortment of jigs, twisters, and small lures, and spoons. Left him with everything, easier than bringing it back. So he gets a tip of $100 to $150 worth of tackle. We got to fish the Carribean Sea. Good trade. He charged us the outrageous sum of $20 U.S. to go in the boat. Out for an hour, and a half, calm seas. A fellow could get used to that.

Stirling is on the Trent way below Rice - and yes has pike.
